AGM & SEASON AWARDS 2024

Falmouth held their annual general meeting on Friday 12th July, communicating updates and club structure to their membership in a full clubhouse. The membership voted to re-elect John Bullock as Chairman, James Instance as Vice Chairman, and Emma Parkman as Hon. Secretary. Mike Tregidgo also takes over from Paul Radmore as Club president, and Danny Trick steps in to become a Co-Vice-Chair.
Before the election of positions, the evening started by handing out a number of awards for the 2023/24 season. This started with the John Bullock Cup for Club Person of the Year which went to Mick Stevens. The Christine Baker Volunteer of the Year went to Julia Rowe, and the Club 150 President Award was presented by Paul Radmore to Mel and Mark Hitchens who Co-chair the Falmouth Rugby Youth Academy.

Star player Ashley Searle, nick-named Cavey, was congratulated for outstanding service, appearing in over 400 caps for the Eagles. Dan Hubble was also recognised for reaching the milestone of over 75 senior games, being awarded his Club Colours.
The committee would like to thank all the above for their commitment and service to the club not just the past season but over the years, and remind members and those wishing to get involved with the club that they are holding their ‘Annual Summer Volunteers Workforce Weekend’ this coming Saturday 20th and Sunday the 21st July between 9am and 6pm at the Recreation Ground. Where the club would like to carry out general maintenance, painting and tasks ahead of the new season. One & All are welcome to volunteer, and those wishing to renew their membership for the new season can do so at the bar.

Pre-season training continues for both Men and Women’s senior sides on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30.

Head of Rugby Tom Spiller is keen to see how the men fare in the pre-season fixtures against Penryn at home on Friday 9th August, Away to St. Austell on Sat 17th August and at Home to St. Ives on Saturday 25th August. With new signings to the pack in Morgan Drewson (Swansea Uplands), Fraser Lyne (Harlequins Academy /Chichester RFC) and Rohan Ewels (Bath Academy / Winborne RFC).
